Malaga 2015 -Photos

Okay so I'm super sorry to anyone who tried to view this blog and be told it doesn't exist! For some unknown reason Blogger decided to draft my blog post and deleted all the text I had typed up to with which is unbelievably annoying, but hey ho here's round two.

Hello everyone!

So some of you may or may not know, that I went on holiday at the beginning of July to Malaga, Spain, with my best friend Izzy for 6 days. It was honestly such an amazing holiday and it was actually my first holiday on my own without any parents, which was scary being the responsible one with all the important documents, but thankfully all went relatively smoothly, phew!

So in terms of things we got up to while on holiday, we did spend ALOT of time sun bathing and chilling by the pool which was nice just to relax and get super tanned. Although getting really tan has it downsides of super bad tan lines oops.

But anyway we did actually leave the hotel and did some exploringof the local attractions. We visited Malaga beach, port and even Malaga park. Malaga park by the way is a definite must see as its absolutely stunning, and even has a little cafe halfway through it where you can stop for a bite to eat or even a cocktail if you're feeling naughty! While at Malaga port we booked to go on swimming at sea boat trip which was AMAZ-ing! Honestly such a fun time on it. While still in Malaga city we went shopping at the local malls and bought lots of clothes and make up so don;t be surprised if a haul pops up around here..

As well as that we also took a train to Costa Del Sol and Los Bliches. While at Costa Del Sol we went to visit its tourist areas such as its strip of restaurants all facing its gorgeous golden beaches, again a must see! Also while at Los Bliches we visited the Roman park which was filled with Roman Ruins which was actually really interesting to go look at, and with my being a huge lover of history this was generally really fascinating for me.

But if that wasn't enough for you I also got some footage of my time in Malaga:

So I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peak into my holiday!
I hope you're having a wonderful day and I will see you with a new blog post on Monday!

10 thing's I'd Tell My Younger Self: Beauty Related

Despite still being young and still in my teens being 18 years old I have been through many phases in the last few years; (Many I would like to forget but oh well lets laugh it off.) So for today's post I thought I'd share 10 things I would tell my younger self about beauty and make up.

1. Ease up on the eyeliner girlfriend Like seriously you look like a panda with that much liner on.

2.Dry shaving is a big NONO It may seem like a quick solution to a hairy problem, (pun intended) but it will leave a nasty rash all over your legs and everyone will know that you're the silly billy who dry shaved their legs in the summer.

3.Foundation shades do matter, one colour does not suit all Unfortunately you're just going to have to deal with the fact that you're not the 2 shades too dark warm beige, but instead more porcelain pale.

4.Do not dye your hair dark Stick to the palette of shades natural for you so it will suit your skin tone, but don't worry blonde's have more fun!

5. Give up with on the red lip dream Again continuing on with the point of skin tones, red lippy doesn't suit you at all, not that its a bad thing, just stick to the plums, pinks and peaches.

6.Blend Blend Blend Foundation doesn't end at your chin, blend down into your neck, as no ones likes a foundation line.

7. Extension point to no4: Do not try to cut your own hair You're not some Nicky Clarke, please please please just leave all things hair to your hair dresser.

8. Avoid cheap make up If its seems too good to be true it probably is. You've mostly likely just purchased an orange foundation or something that guaranteed to make you break out with spots, nice.

9. Be careful with the tweezer, don't over pluck Thin over plucked eyebrows are not a good look, in fact thicker eyebrows can make you look more youthful. Its better off to not pluck enough then way too much, trust me.

10. Learn to love the skin you're in Stop putting yourself down by comparing yourself to others. More so, stop worrying so much about your flaws, imperfections are natural and real, and in most cases such as spots are just temporary and will fade in due time.

So there are 10 thing's I tell my younger self about beauty and make up.
I really hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you Friday with a new blog post!
Until then,

Tuesday Thoughts

Hello everyone!

So I thought for today we'd have a small casual post where I'll just off load all my thoughts at the moment and also more importantly what I am wanting to do with my blog.

Slight Revamp

So if you're a regular to Kira Bassett blog, you may have noticed I have changed my header to my blog slightly. I decided that my previous design wasn't 'me', and over time I've grown to dislike it and wanted a change. I am sticking with the black and white theme for now, but I liked the personal touch of the  hand written looking header.

Blogging Schedule

Well I've said it many times on my blog, that due to college work load I never wanted to commit myself to a schedule otherwise I'd feel under pressure to post all the time. Blogging is not something I want to be stressing about as blogging to me has also been a hobby and something I wanted to enjoy rather than stress over. However with college far behind me I'm going to commit to a small schedule of every other weekday to start off with, and in the future I may step it up depending on how I feel. So from now on expect a new blog post on here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday!

Being More Active On Social Media

With a come back on my blog, I have decided to be more active on my social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram, which if you don't already follow you can do so by clicking here for Twitter and here for Instagram. I've also gotten addicted to Pinterest again surprise surprise, which if you'd like to follow me on there then you can click here, and I'd be sure to check your boards out too as I need to follow more people on there!

So I do believe I covered everything that was on my mind in terms of my blog.
I am super excited to start regularly blogging now and with an actual schedule its actually happening ahh!

So I will see you guys with my first regular blog post tomorrow!
Until then!

Toning Blonde Hair - La Riche Directions Silver Toner

Having blonde hair pretty much all my life has always been pretty simple, however as I've gotten older my natural light blonde hair colour has darkened to a dull dark blonde borderline lightish brown. So over the past few years, as I'm sure I've mentioned many times on my blog, I've been dying my hair a very light blonde as it matches my skin tone best.
As anyone who regularly dyes their hair blonde will know the hardships of maintaining it and more importantly toning it. When dying your hair blonde, you are more than likely going to deal with some unwanted tones of 'yellow' and even brassy tones to it, which when desiring a light silver or even white blonde can prove to be annoying.

Despite not going for a white/silver blonde I still personally hate having yellow and brass tones to it, and although I cannot rid them all unless I go blonder, I can at least tone my hair at its current shade to reduce all yellow and brass tones to a minimum. I usually use my trustly ol' Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Shampoo to tone my hair, however I find this doesn't last as long as I would like it too with it being a shampoo toner and its also quite pricey at over £10 per bottle. So I have recently tried out the La Riche Directions Silver Toner which is a semi-permanent hair colour which makes it last longer, and with it already containing conditioner you do not need to dilute this at all which again concentrates it giving you good colour coverage. It also has the added bonus of being very inexpensive at £3.75 a pot (including delivery). I purchased mine off eBay from here.

Now in terms of application,it recommends applying it on to wet hair, however I was a little bit daring and chose to apply on to dry hair as I found it took to my hair better when dry. And although it does look a little scary when applied remember that it is a toner and not a dye, so no blue or green tones will actually end up in your hair!

(Half way through application.)

When it comes to time its really subject to the inidividual as to how 'silver' you'd like your hair, but anywhere between 30-60 minutes is just fine. On this particular occasion I do believe I left it on for about 40 minutes. I just listened to music and ran a bath while I waited for the toner to take to my hair.

Then all is left is to rinse out completely and to dry and style as normal. The best thing about toners is that if its too silver for you then not to worry, as it will fade after some washes, also if its not silver enough you can repeat the process again without worrying about it damaging your hair as this is a conditioning toner and not a dye.

Before:

After:

As you can see from the images due to my blonde being slightly too dark the toner can't eliminate ALL brassy tones, it has however toned the majority of my hair leaving me with less brassy tones and much more 'silvery' tones to it.This is a great alternative to stop the urge to bleach your hair constantly when you're unhappy with its tone and the plus side is that its none damaging!!

Over all I am really impressed with this product and would recommend it!! Although you only get a small amount of the product, at its cheaper price and its reasonable size you can get at least 2-3 uses out of it, and probably even more when used on shorter hair! This can be used as a weekly- fortnightly toner and can be even further maintained when paired with toning shampoo's.

So that is my impressions of the La Riche Directions Silver Toner, be sure to let me know if you've tried this product out as I'd love to know your opinions.
Thank you so much for reading!
Until next time!

Drugstore Pinks and Peaches

Hello Everyone!

Summer time is one of my favourite times of the year, it is also however, the time of year when I wear primarily Pink and Peach coloured lip products. So for today's post, I will be showing you some of my favourite Drugstore lip products for the summer time.

For the first of the peaches, is my trusty 'ol Revlon lip butter in Peach Parfait. Now I'm sure if you're a long time reader of my blog then you've already seen me talking about Revlon lip butters, however if you are new here and would to read more about Revlon lip butters then click here to read a more detailed review in to them. I personally really love lip butters purely due to the fact that they are build-able in terms of colour. So on one occasion I could choose to merely tint my lips however if I changed my mind, I could easily apply more for a bolder and more peachier colour. Meanwhile the Maybelline Color Sensational may be a lipstick, however its sheerness in colour and the build-able nature of it, makes it a summer favourite. Plus out of all these products the Maybelline Color Sensational has the prettiest packaging.

The Kate lipsticks has always been a drugstore favourite of mine, and once again I have spoken about these on my blog before, and even used them in a make up tutorial over on my YouTube channel. Although I don't usually wear lipstick during the day time, (especially in high temperatures) I do however wear lipstick during summer evenings out when its much cooler so it doesn't end up with lipstick literally melting. The Rimmel Kate lipsticks have always been a high quality product for me and I definitely want to purchase more colours, but for the ones I currently own: 07 has a peachy-pinky tone to it meanwhile if you are wanting a much more "pinkier" shade but not a bright vibrant one then I find shade 17 to be a beautiful natural looking shade of pink.

Once again, another product I have owned before but in different colours, and I'm pretty sure I have spoken about this one too, oops. However I purchased this just before the summer and I've recently been wearing it ALOT. Although the swatch of it in the image above makes it look almost pink, on application its actually much more a peach colour. Again with this product being a balm and not a lipstick its makes it much more ideal for the hotter summer days, plus with the fun fact that the fact that this product is in fact long lasting and does actually live up to its name: "Rimmel Lasting Finish Intense Colour Balm". Plus you pick this beauty up for under £5 woo!

Now I know I have spoken about my strong dislike of lipgloss before, and yes I do not like the sticky-ness and over shiny-ness of lipglosses that has certainly not changed. However I have made an exception for these product as they literally do not hold any of those qualities! If like me, you have a dislike to lip gloss then lip lacquers may be your saviour. The overall application and quality of the product is amazing, unlike lipsticks when dried these do not dry your lips out which is a problem I commonly face when wearing lipsticks. Also when set I find that these do last a good few hours before having to top up. Rimmel has a wide range of shades and despite shade 300 Out Of This World being shimmery, the shimmer is so discrete when applied it creates a beautiful light pink shade making it my current favourite colour - ever. Aurora is a more darker peach shade and still equally vibrant and wonderful just at this current moment in time I swaying more toward pinks.

So there are some of my current favourite pink and peach drugstore lip products!
Thank you so much for reading and I will see you next time!
